The real ranges, in plain numbers
For a local South Florida business, a dental office in Plantation, a law firm in Fort Lauderdale, a contractor in Davie, search engine optimization pricing falls into recognizable bands. Knowing them keeps you from overpaying and, just as important, from buying something too cheap to work.
- $99–$300/month: automated or offshore packages. Usually directory submissions and thin content. Rarely moves rankings; sometimes harms them.
- $350–$800/month: legitimate local SEO for a single-location business. Google Business Profile management, review growth, on-page optimization, steady content. This is where most small businesses belong.
- $800–$2,500/month: competitive markets and multi-location businesses. Adds real content production, link building, and competitor tracking.
- $2,500+/month: aggressive campaigns in brutal niches, personal injury law, cosmetic surgery, Miami real estate. If you're not in one of those, you probably don't need this tier.
Why affordable SEO services are not the same as cheap ones
Affordable SEO means the scope matches your market: a single-location practice in Broward County doesn't need a $3,000 national campaign, and a good provider will say so. Cheap SEO means the work itself is hollow, a dashboard of vanity metrics, a blog of AI filler nobody reads, and a ranking report for keywords no customer actually types.
The difference shows up in what the money buys. Legitimate local SEO work in South Florida spends its hours on your Google Business Profile, your reviews, pages targeting what people in your city actually search, and the technical health of your site. If a proposal can't tell you which of those it covers and how many hours it represents, the price, high or low, is a guess.
Five questions that expose a bad proposal
- Which exact keywords are we targeting, and who searches them? (Vague 'more traffic' promises are a red flag.)
- What happens to my Google Business Profile each month, specifically?
- Who writes the content, and will I see it before it publishes under my name?
- Do I own the website, the content, and the accounts if we part ways? (If not, walk.)
- Guaranteed #1 rankings? No honest provider promises that, Google itself says so.
What results should look like, and when
Honest timelines: Google Business Profile and review improvements often show within four to eight weeks. Meaningful organic ranking movement for local terms usually takes three to six months, faster in soft markets, slower in saturated ones. Anyone promising page one in two weeks is either targeting keywords nobody searches or borrowing trouble with tactics that get sites penalized.
The reporting should be in plain English: calls, form fills, direction requests, and rankings for the keywords you agreed on, not a 40-page PDF of jargon. You should always know what was done last month and what's planned next.
